Announcing Bridging the Gap: Practicing preservation; preserving practice! Join me this hunger gap for a right old larder rummage in celebration of all things preserved! From 20 y/o cherries to fresh champagnes, this promises to be a taste sensation…
For much of human history, preserved food offered a welcome lifeline during the 'hunger gap:’ those lean months between autumn’s last harvest and spring’s first growth. This event honours the practice of preservation that traditionally helped us bridge the gap, and preserves these practices to celebrate a slower pace of life, reconnecting us with the seasonal cycles we have forgotten.
Each £40 ticket includes 3 foraged and fermented dishes, and 3 homemade cocktails, + a surprise digestif. The event will take place at Café Mélo on the 18th Jan, from 19:00 to 21:30. Please contact me with any dietary requirements beforehand.
